Paper pathWarning

Lexmark 200.XX error code

Paper jam (input section)

The Lexmark 200 code family (200.xx, 201.xx, 202.xx) indicates a paper jam: paper did not reach the relevant sensor in time or became stuck there. The number points to the jam location.

What does this error mean?

Repeated jams in the same location are typically caused by a worn feed roller, a scrap left inside or unsuitable paper.

What can you safely try?

  1. 01Open the doors and covers and carefully remove all jammed paper from the paper path, including small scraps. The area around the fuser may be hot; wait a few minutes there.
  2. 02Remove the paper from the tray, fan it and set the guides precisely to the paper size.

When should you call a technician?

If the jam regularly occurs in the same place, call a technician: the rollers may need replacing.

Do you rent out or manage printers?

If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
