OKI 391 error code
Paper jam (tray 1 feeding)
OKI code 391 usually indicates a feeding jam from tray 1: the paper did not start moving or did not reach the first sensor.
What does this error mean?
Typical causes include an overfilled tray, stuck-together or damp paper, and a worn feed roller. A sheet that has slipped behind the tray can also cause it.
What can you safely try?
- 01Pull tray 1 all the way out, check for paper trapped behind it, then push it fully back in.
- 02Fan the stack of paper and keep it below the fill mark.
- 03Open the doors and covers and carefully remove all jammed paper from the paper path, including small scraps. The area around the fuser may be hot; wait a few minutes there.
When should you call a technician?
If jams occur regularly, call a technician: worn feed rollers are the most common cause.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
