Ricoh SC559 error code
Repeated paper jams or faults at the fuser
Ricoh SC559 usually appears when the printer detects several paper jams near the fuser within a short period and stops for safety. It is not always a component fault: repeated jams themselves often trigger the code.
What does this error mean?
Because SC559 is often caused by repeated jams, it is worth removing every piece of paper around the fuser and paper path before calling a technician.
What can you safely try?
- 01Open the doors and covers and carefully remove all jammed paper from the paper path, including small scraps. The area around the fuser may be hot; wait a few minutes there.
- 02Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
When should you call a technician?
If the jams and code return even after the paper has been removed, call a technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
