Developer or drum motor fault
Ricoh SC324 usually indicates a fault in the developer or drum unit motor: the motor is not rotating or taking load as expected. This relates to the imaging assembly.
What does this error mean?
The imaging process drives several rotating assemblies. If one of them jams or the motor feedback is invalid, the printer stops to protect the imaging assembly.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.

If the code recurs, call a technician: checking the developer or drum unit and its drive is a job for a qualified technician.
