PrinterMS

PrinterMS or Kyocera Fleet Services: manufacturer monitoring or business operations?

Kyocera Fleet Services (KFS) provides manufacturer-level remote management for Kyocera printers: an embedded agent, remote settings, firmware management and automatic meter reporting. Its strengths are also its limits: other brands receive only basic monitoring, and it cannot handle invoicing or contracts. PrinterMS works across brands and handles the business workflow that follows meter collection.

KFS goes deeper on Kyocera devices through its embedded agent and remote management, but offers limited coverage of other brands and no invoicing or contracts. PrinterMS works across brands and handles the business side after meter readings.

What is KFS designed for?

KFS is the manufacturer dashboard for Kyocera printers. Its embedded agent runs on the printer without a separate server and gives the manufacturer deep access to its own devices, including remote settings and firmware management. It is designed for that role. Printer leasing operations are outside its scope: it has no contracts, fee calculation, invoices, customers or inventory. Meter data can be exported to an external system, leaving the revenue-generating business workflow outside KFS.

What about a mixed fleet?

Hungarian leasing fleets rarely use a single brand. KFS provides only basic, status-level monitoring for other manufacturers; its deeper features apply to Kyocera. The PrinterMS agent uses standard SNMP and manufacturer OID packs across mainstream brands, including Ricoh, Kyocera, Konica Minolta, HP, Canon and Xerox. Meter readings, toner levels and error codes appear together in one fleet view rather than separate manufacturer systems.

The takeaway

KFS shows what is happening to your Kyocera printers. PrinterMS shows what your printers earn and issues the invoices. If you have a Kyocera-only fleet and use manufacturer remote management, the two can coexist, with PrinterMS still handling invoicing. For a mixed fleet, its agent can also take over monitoring in the same system.
