Printer SNMP OID reference: page counters and toner levels
A free, field-verified reference of the SNMP OIDs used to read page counters (total, mono, color, scan) and toner levels from office printers and copiers, grouped by manufacturer. Compiled from the data-collection research behind PrinterMS. Every vendor is tagged with a trust tier, because in the real world firmware varies and some values need on-device verification before you rely on them.

The standard baseline (Printer MIB, RFC 3805)
Before reaching for vendor-private OIDs, most devices answer the standard Printer MIB. It gives you a total impression count and per-colorant toner levels on almost any brand. It generally does NOT give you a reliable mono-vs-color split, which is why the vendor packs below exist.
| Value | OID |
|---|---|
| Total impressions (prtMarkerLifeCount) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1 |
| Toner level (prtMarkerSuppliesLevel) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.N |
| Toner max capacity (prtMarkerSuppliesMaxCapacity) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.8.1.N |
| Colorant value (prtMarkerColorantValue) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.12.1.1.4.1.N |
Toner level uses sentinels: -1 = unknown, -2 = unrestricted, -3 = some remaining. Compute a percentage as level ÷ max capacity.
Vendor OID packs
Trust tiers: A ship now, B keep but resolve the split carefully, C confirmed but lower trust or needs parsing, D total only over SNMP (keep any mono/color billing on another source).
HP
PEN 11Tier AHigh trust, scalar reads.
| Total | 1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.2.5.0 |

| Toner | Standard prtMarkerSuppliesLevel per colorant. |
Konica Minolta
PEN 18334Tier AHigh trust; total plus copy+print split.
| Total | 1.3.6.1.4.1.18334.1.1.1.5.7.2.1.1.0 |
|---|---|
| Mono | copy …5.1.1 + print …5.1.2 |
| Color | copy …5.2.1 + print …5.2.2 |
| Toner | Standard table .9.1.{4=K, 1=C, 2=M, 3=Y}. |
Xerox
PEN 253Tier AHigh trust; label-resolved walk.
| Total | 1.3.6.1.4.1.253.8.53.13.2.1.6.1.20.1 (or prtMarkerLifeCount) |
|---|---|
| Mono total | …253.8.53.13.2.1.6.1.20.34 |
| Color total | …253.8.53.13.2.1.6.1.20.33 |
| Toner | Standard per colorant. |
Lexmark
PEN 641Tier ARichest breakdown; walk paperGeneralCountValue by type code.
| Walk root | 1.3.6.1.4.1.641.6.4.2.1.1.4 |
|---|---|
| Type codes | printMono=17, copyMono=33, printColor=18, copyColor=34, totalMono=3, totalColor=4, total=2 |
| Toner | Standard, or private 1.3.6.1.4.1.641.6.4.4.1.1.16. |
Ricoh
PEN 367Tier BKeep, but resolve the split by counter TYPE, not fixed leaves.
| Total | 1.3.6.1.4.1.367.3.2.1.2.19.1.0 |
|---|---|
| Print / Copy | …2.19.2.0 / …2.19.4.0 |
| Mono / Color | walk the counter table, resolve by type (copy+print, mono vs color) |
| Toner | Private …367.3.2.1.2.24.1.1.5.{1=K, 2=C, 3=M, 4=Y}. The standard table returns bogus values on Ricoh. |
Note: Do NOT use fixed .9.22 / .9.21 leaves for the mono/color split; they were refuted in field testing.
Canon
PEN 1602Tier BWalk by type; copy-vs-print scope is model dependent.
| Walk root | 1.3.6.1.4.1.1602.1.11.1.3.1.3.1.4 |
|---|---|
| Type codes | total=101, mono=108, color=122+123, print=301, scan=501 |
| Toner | Standard table. |
Note: Type 105 is an opt-in cross-check only; do not unconditionally switch color off it. Do not bill print/copy separately (model dependent).
Sharp
PEN 2385Tier CConfirmed split, lower trust.
| Mono | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2385.1.1.19.2.1.3.5.4.61 |
|---|---|
| Color | 1.3.6.1.4.1.2385.1.1.19.2.1.3.5.4.63 |
| Toner | Standard .9.1.{4=K, 1=C, 2=M, 3=Y}; waste .5, drum .9, fuser .14. |
Note: Account for a '.75' Mixed leaf before treating mono+color as the grand total.
Brother
PEN 2435Tier CConfirmed mechanism, but needs a byte-parser.
| Counters + supplies | private brInfo* OctetString blob, parsed by item-ID |
|---|---|
| Toner | Standard prtMarkerSuppliesLevel returns -2/-3/150% on Brother and is unusable; byte-parse the private blob. |
Note: Fuser/laser labels swap by firmware; expose raw values, do not hard-label.
Toshiba
PEN 1129Tier DTotal only over SNMP; keep mono/color billing on another source.
| Total (prtMarkerLifeCount) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1 |
|---|---|
| Toner | Standard table per color. |
Epson
PEN 1248Tier DTotal only (laser). Ink-tank/EcoTank models differ.

PEN 2001Tier DTotal only.
| Total | prtMarkerLifeCount, or …2001.1.1.1.1.100.1.1.1.4 |
|---|---|
| Toner | Private usageToner is already a percentage; drum/fuser/belt are count-up, so invert them. |
Pantum
PEN 40093Tier DTotal only; no confirmed per-channel counters.
| Total (prtMarkerLifeCount) | 1.3.6.1.2.1.43.10.2.1.4.1.1 |

| Toner | Mono toner …40093.1.1.3.13.2; drum …40093.8.1.4. |
Before you trust these for billing
- Always snmpwalk on the actual device first. Firmware revisions move, rename and occasionally break OIDs. Treat this table as a starting map, not a guarantee.
- The mono/color split is the hard part. The standard MIB rarely exposes it; the vendor packs do, but by walking type-coded tables that differ per model. Never bill a color/mono split you have not verified against a known meter read.
- SNMP meter reads can drift. For invoicing, reconcile against an authoritative source (the device's own emailed meter report or a manual read) before you settle money on an SNMP number.
This is exactly why PrinterMS keeps email meter reports as the billing source of truth and treats agent SNMP counters as non-billable telemetry by default until they are reconciled per device.
