Canon E003 error code
Fuser temperature drops during operation
Canon E003 usually means that the fuser temperature drops too low after warm-up. The heating unit, thermistor or power supply may be responsible.
What does this error mean?
Low mains voltage can also cause the temperature to drop during operation, for example if the printer is connected through an extension lead or an overloaded circuit.
What can you safely try?
- 01Switch the printer off at the main power switch, wait at least 10 minutes for the fuser to cool down, then switch it back on. Many error codes are temporary and disappear after a full power cycle.
- 02If the printer is connected through an extension lead or power strip, try plugging it directly into a wall socket.
When should you call a technician?
If the fault returns even when the printer is connected directly to a wall socket, call a technician.
Do you rent out or manage printers?
If you manage the printer at a customer’s site, you can record the fault on site in PrinterMS using QR issue reporting, and any parts used are automatically added to its service history. See printer fleet management.
