PrinterMS

PrinterMS or Ricoh @Remote: how do they differ, and why can they coexist?

Ricoh @Remote is the manufacturer's remote management service for automatic meter reporting and supplies replenishment, linked to Ricoh service processes. Ricoh printers are common in Hungarian leasing fleets, so operators often ask whether they need another system. @Remote monitors the printers but does not run the leasing business: it does not calculate contract charges, page prices, minimums or excess usage, issue Hungarian invoices, or cover your non-Ricoh fleet. PrinterMS adds that business layer across brands and also processes Ricoh meter reading emails natively.

@Remote provides manufacturer monitoring tied to Ricoh service. PrinterMS is the leasing business system: contracts, fee calculations and Hungarian invoices across brands. They serve different roles; the business still needs an invoicing layer.

Why do they serve different roles?

@Remote is Ricoh's manufacturer channel: the printer reports back, and meter readings and supplies requirements enter Ricoh's processes. Your leasing business has its own contracts, page prices and customer invoices. @Remote does not provide or promise that layer. PrinterMS turns readings into contract-based charges and Hungarian invoices, regardless of the printer brand.

Do you have a large Ricoh fleet?

PrinterMS processes Ricoh meter reading emails natively. At the configured time, the printer sends its readings; the system assigns them to the correct contract and calculates charges. Its own SNMP agent also reads the fleet live, including toner levels and error codes. A Ricoh-heavy Hungarian fleet is therefore well suited to PrinterMS, whether or not @Remote is also used.

The takeaway

You can keep @Remote for Ricoh manufacturer monitoring and use PrinterMS to run your business. The manufacturer service and supplies channel can stay in place, while invoices, contracts, return analysis and non-Ricoh printers are managed in PrinterMS. The invoicing layer comes from PrinterMS.
