PrinterMS or Printanista (PrintFleet, FMAudit): data collector or complete system?

Printanista Hub is ECi's multi-brand data collector, bringing together PrintFleet, FMAudit and Print Audit. Its published coverage lists more than 25,000 printer models. It does not issue invoices: meter data goes to ECi's e-automate ERP, so the complete workflow involves buying two systems. PrinterMS combines data collection and invoicing: its own DCA reads the fleet, and the same system turns the readings into Hungarian invoices.

Printanista sets a benchmark for model coverage but handles collection only; invoicing requires e-automate. PrinterMS combines readings and Hungarian invoicing in one system, avoiding two software purchases and implementations.

What happened to PrintFleet and FMAudit?

If you use PrintFleet or FMAudit, the comparison now concerns Printanista: ECi brought both established collectors, along with Print Audit, into one platform and is moving users towards it. The change still means a new agent, interface and contract. If you are switching anyway, consider whether to replace only the collector or simplify the whole chain with a system that also turns readings into invoices.

Where is Printanista stronger?

In breadth of coverage. Its 25,000+ listed printer models are the largest published count in the category, which can matter for a highly mixed fleet with unusual devices. The PrinterMS agent uses standard SNMP and manufacturer OID packs for mainstream office brands, including Ricoh, Kyocera, Konica Minolta, HP, Canon and Xerox. This covers the practical needs of Hungarian leasing fleets, while Printanista has the broader published model list.

The takeaway

Printanista provides a data collection layer and leaves invoicing to e-automate. For a Hungarian leasing business, that would mean two expensive, quote-only systems without Hungarian invoicing. PrinterMS combines DCA, contracts, fee calculation and NAV-compatible invoices at a public price. Consider whether you need a collector or the full meter-to-invoice workflow.
